Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you had a lovely and relaxing Winter break. We have had a great first term where the children have demonstrated a thirst for learning and a strong work ethic. They have shown resilience and great determination - all good attributes to be a successful year 5 pupil.

We have hit the ground running by exploring grammatical devices in English so the children can apply this to their writing challenges, and tackled multiplication and division problems in maths.

In Art, we have been studying Anglo Saxon jewellery and have made clay brooches.

We are studying The Americas in Geography - identifying key geographical features.

The children have enjoyed informative PSHE activities around the subject of being safe online and how we deal with social media (pictures and information can be found on the class Seesaw page).

We have also had the opportunity to talk about our mental health and well-being. Encouraging the children to talk about their feelings and thoughts.

During this term, you will receive an interim report with your child's attainment and progress. 

I have the ability to email you all using the website to indicate when new items have been uploaded, however it would be good practice if you could regularly check on the Kites Class Page for new and relevant information.
