What do Marches Family Network do?
Marches Family Network is unique in providing high quality, inclusive short breaks for children and young people with disabilities and their families across Herefordshire and South Shropshire. The charity was established in 1982, under the auspices of Contact A Family, as a small self-help parent group. We became independent in 1995 and have grown in to the amazing charity that we are today.
Through our work we aim to:
We think that children and young people with disabilities have a right to the same opportunities in life as their non-disabled peers and we strive to provide these opportunities through our short breaks sessions and through working with people and providers in our local communities.
Marches Family Network provides activities, services and short breaks for children and young people, aged 0-25 years, with a wide range of disabilities. All of the sessions we run are group sessions so the young people are able to socialise with their peers and develop friendships. We also welcome siblings, where places are available. Our youth team are trained to meet the varied and complex needs of the children and young people who attend our sessions. Young people are welcome to attend sessions with their PA's - contact the office for more information.
