We had a brilliant day at Perrygrove Railway! 🚂
After dropping our bags off, we headed straight to the ‘Twilight Village’ where we had lots of fun playing in the indoor buildings. We then headed for our first trip on the train. We loved seeing the steam train arrive and took a short ride to ‘Rockwood’ Station. After getting off, we headed through the woodlands searching for teddies hidden in the trees. We then reached ‘Foxy Hollow’ where we enjoyed listening to the story ‘Mr Chuffity and the Hay Trains’ whilst having a snack. We loved playing in the tunnel maze and in the park after; even some of the adults made it into the tunnels! We headed back through the woodlands, returning to base for lunch. After lunch, we went back in to the woodlands and had lots of fun playing in the treetop houses; the slides were certainly a favourite! We then went back to the train for a circular loop before heading back to school on the bus.
After 2 weeks of Evil Mr Freeze capturing a different superhero each day and setting us challenges, we came into the classroom to find out that we needed to re-rescue all of the superheroes! Evil Mr Freeze left us a letter behind outlining our challenges for the day to help boost our strength once and for all. We started by taking part in our superhero physical training where we developed our agility completing obstacles courses, dodged string lasers, worked together to collect hoops and power up, as well as avoiding the large inflatable obstacles! We enjoyed learning our superhero dance, making and tasting smoothies and creating potions too. To finish, we took part in a QR code treasure hunt to defeat Evil Me Freeze!
Ladybirds had a lovely trip to Queenswood. We managed to avoid the rain and had lots of fun searching through the woodland area! We followed the Gruffalo trail spotting several familiar faces on the way; it was super muddy but we enjoyed squelching through with our wellies on. We took it in turns to look out from the view point and listened to our story back in the Yurt. After lunch, we explored the Forest School area: making leaf frames, searching for minibeasts and making potions. We also had a quick play in the playground before heading back to the bus.
