Owls (Year 3)

Welcome to Owls Class page (Year 3).

Class Teachers: Miss Jones (Monday - Thursday) and Mrs Price (Fridays).

Support Staff: Mrs Ashurst, Mrs Booton and Mrs Higgins.

We have a 'Meet the Teachers' evening on Tuesday 19th October 2023 at 3:45pm in the hall. Our Autumn term newsletter will be sent out after the above information evening.

A few reminders for this term:

- PE is on a Monday and Wednesday.

- Home learning is marked and given out every Friday.

- As it is getting warmer, children should bring a hat with them.

This term in Year 3, we are answering the question: How did Britain change from the Stone Age to the Iron Age? We will be learning how the people of this time changed from hunter-gathers to farmers and how they recorded their history without writing anything down.

So far, we have visited Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre to support our knowledge and understanding of this topic.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

This term, we have started to explore different ancient civilisations. We have looked at their greatest achievements and what they need to have in order to function as a city.

We have also started our new book called The Hedgehog. With this text in mind, we wrote letters to Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and posted them.

In maths, we have loved our fractions topic! We have learnt about unit and non-unit fractions and how to compare them.

Posting our letters

Already we have had a busy term. We have put on our class assembly, which we wrote our scripts for. We have also put on our Life Style Cafe.
